Privacy Policy

Lore (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an internal knowledge-sharing application provided by Anoob Suresh for its members and employees. It lets people in your organisation share links, notes, photos and short videos, react to and discuss them, save them, and rediscover them through search and a weekly digest. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. By using Lore you agree to this policy.

01Information we collect

Account & profile. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile, and we store the profile you set up in the app — your name, username, role/title, avatar and the topics you follow.
Content you create. Posts you share (text and links), photos and videos you upload, comments, reactions, saved (bookmarked) items, tags, and your connections (“Fellow Lorians”).
Notification token. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token and platform so we can deliver alerts (for example, when someone reacts to your post or sends a connection request).
Technical & log data. Our backend provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, timestamps and request metadata) to operate and secure the service. The app does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics/tracking.
On-device data. Your sign-in session and a “last seen notifications” timestamp are stored locally on your device.

02How we use your information

To run the app — show your feed, threads, search, Library, Friday Digest, profiles and connections.
To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
To deliver the notifications you have opted into.
To keep the service secure, reliable and free of abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to running Lore.

03How your data is stored & secured

Your data is hosted on Supabase (a managed PostgreSQL database, authentication and file storage). Access is enforced by row-level security, so members can only read and write the data they are permitted to. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect your information.

04Service providers we share data with

We rely on a small number of providers that process data on our behalf to run the app:

Supabase — database, authentication and media storage hosting (supabase.com/privacy).
Google — to let you sign in with your Google account, and (on Android) to deliver push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (policies.google.com/privacy).
Expo — to relay push notifications to your device using your push token (expo.dev/privacy).

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

05Permissions the app requests

Photos / media — only so you can choose a photo or video to attach to a post. We access only the items you select.
Notifications — to send the alerts you opt into.
Internet — to sync your content with our servers.

06Data retention

We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can edit or delete your own posts in the app at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us using the details below; we will delete it within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, security or backup reasons.

07Your rights & choices

You can access, correct or delete your information. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, export or erase your personal data — we honour reasonable requests. 08Children

Lore is an internal tool intended for an organisation’s members and employees. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app. Continued use of Lore after an update means you accept the revised policy.
